Dr. Richard Coopersmith has been a leader in the Chiropractic Profession for over 30 years. During his years as the Director of Newtown Chiropractic Health Center, Inc., Dr. Coopersmith has also served as the President of the Connecticut Chiropractic Association. He was voted Chiropractor of the year in 1991 and was appointed to the Ct. State Worker’s Compensation Medical Advisory Board.
Dr. Coopersmith received his undergraduate degree from Brooklyn College, his Masters degree from the University of Bridgeport and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois.
Dr. Coopersmith is clinically involved in the mainstream of health care, frequently participating in the co-management of patients with primary care physicians, orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons and physical therapists. He often works in concert with other specialists to diagnose and develop the best treatment plan for each patient. Dr. Coopersmith focuses on the conservative management of back pain, neck pain, headache, and sports injuries.
Dr. Coopersmith frequently speaks to corporations in an effort assist in the reduction of work related injuries. He is involved in an ongoing public lecture series entitled, “Achieving Optimal Health and Well Being - Through Proper Nutrition, Exercise and Maintaining a Positive Mental Attitude”.
Dr. Coopersmith has been the well known host of Channel 23’s,
“Today’s Health”. During its years of running, this educational health program was recognized as Best Talk Show and Best Show.
Dr. Coopersmith and his wife, Claudia dedicate a great deal of their time and energy to family, friends and community. Together, they were recognized as People of Distinction by The Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut for their many contributions.
There is a booming interest in complementary and alternative health care. The emergence of the chiropractic profession as a leader in this field and its proven methods for treatment continue to elevate the publics’ awareness to the many benefits of chiropractic care. |
